Social Impact Field Mission Visited CFPA Microfinance Co.

On January 21, 2016, High Impact Capital Advisors LTD. led a delegation of social impact investors including the Asian Development Bank and BNP Paribas for a field mission visited China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation Microfinance Co. (CFPA Microfinance) branch office in Luanping County of Hebei Province, approximately 200 km north of Beijing. The visit aims to help the delegation memebrs develop first hand experience as to how microfinance is being practiced at the ground level including a meeting with Heads of Luanping County government, CFPA Microfinance branch managers and the staff in the morning followed by a lunch hosted by Luanping County government officals. In the afternoon, five CFPA Microfinance customers invited the delegation to their homes and shared their amazing entrepreneurial stories with the delegates.

Building a Community Committed to Global Causes

The third East-West Philanthropists Summit jointly held by China Global Philanthropy Institute and East-West Center was successfully conducted between 7-9 January, 2016 in Haiwaii, United States. Nearly 100 philanthropists from China and US joined this 3-day event, including the members of the Rockefeller family, representatives from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Mr. Niu Gensheng and Ms. He Qiaonv. Mr. Steven Ying, the Managing Director of High Impact Capital Advisors LTD. attended the meeting as a panelist for discussion on “Global Inovation and Collaboration on the Microfinance Sector".

Two Events to Promote Financial Incluision

High Impact Capital Advisors hosted two events to help promote continued developmentof the impact investing sector in Beijing on December 17, 2015. First, a luncheon with the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mr. Kok joined by Mr. Ying and Prof. Wang Zhenyao for the JingShi Philanthropy Seminar Series with more than one hundred student audiencesat Beijing Normal University. At the conclusion of the JingShi Philanthropy Seminar, Mr. Kok and Mr. Ying made a non-stop visit for the second event at the headquarters of CFPA Microfinance for an employees all-hands meeting.

High Impact Capital AdvisorsLTD. hosted a special dinner in honor of Mr. Wim Kok, former Prime Minister ofthe Netherlands and presented the ‘Inclusive Growth Fund’ - a impact initiative that deploys capitals to compliment to solve social and environmental problems at scale on Friday, June 27 at the China Club in Hong Kong. The Dinner was a gathering of more than 20 like minded leaders who are interested in sharing and exchanging ideas on impact investing. Mr. Kok and The Honorable Ms. Florence Hui, Under Secretary for Home Affairs of Hong Kong SAR Government delivered welcomeremarks followed by a dialogue on impact investing with Mr. Steven Ying, Managing Partner of the Inclusive Growth Fund.
